North Carolina Federation of Young Republicans Convention 2010

Charlotte, NC May 7-8, 2010

In accordance with Article V, Section III of the North Carolina Federation of Young Republicans Constitution which reads, “The National Committeeman and National Committeewoman shall be elected by the Federation at the Annual Convention held during each even-numbered year, and shall serve for a term of two (2) years, or until their successors are elected.”

The Executive Committee would ask that you tell your members of your local organization that these positions are open.

The Duties of the National Committeeman and Committeewoman are:

NCFYR Bylaws, Article V- Duties of Officers

o Section III. The National Committeeman shall serve as a liaison between the North Carolina Federation of Young Republicans and the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF). He shall attend YRNF executive committee meetings and other YRNF events and make regular reports to the Executive committee of the Federation. He shall work closely with the National Committeewoman to ensure that the Federation clubs are kept informed of YRNF activities and programs.

o Section IV. The National Committeewoman shall serve as a liaison between the North Carolina Federation of Young Republicans and the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF). She shall attend YRNF executive committee meetings and other YRNF events and make regular reports to the Executive Committee of the Federation. She shall work closely with the National Committeeman to ensure that the Federations clubs are kept informed of YRNF activities and programs.

The requirements for eligibility to run for office are:

NCFYR Bylaws, Article IV – Officers Of The Federation Qualifications And Removal

o Section I. All nominees for membership on the Executive Committee, regardless of how selected, shall be members of chartered clubs at the time of their nomination and between eighteen (18) and forty (40) years of age inclusive throughout the prospective tenure of their office.

o Section II. The State Chairman, Vice Chairman, National Committeeman, National Committeewoman shall have served on the Executive Committee of the Federation or as a Chairman or Vice-Chairman or their local club equivalent of a local club prior to their nomination and election.
